The Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton (CCAH) is a Not-for-Profit charitable organization established in 1977. We have been providing services in Oakville, Halton for thirty four years.
In 2007 the CCAH received the Ontario Trillium Foundation Great Grants Award for Arts and culture. In 2001, we initiated a Steelpan program for youth. Many of the youth now participate in various bands playing in the annual Pan Alive competition. Our Steelpan program has had significant impact in the community. In 2006, the CCAH Steelband had the distinct honour of playing for the Prime Minister during his visit to Oakville in 2006. In 2010, the CCAH Steelband participated in the Montreal Panorama and received honorary mention for their outstanding performance.
Playing pan is an important avenue of self-expression. Our players have fun with the music, communicating the energy and passion of the Caribbean with every note. The CCAH is proud to see the amazing progress that our Steelband has made and would like to thank Albert John for his hard work and commitment to excellence while getting the CCAH Steelband to this advanced level. Let’s keep the wonderful music flowing!
