The Golden Harps International Steel Orchestra was established in 2007 by the Brampton Community All Steel Percussion Band( BCASPCB); a duly incorporated not for profit organization. The mission of this organization is the establishment and development of steelpan music programs throughout the region of Peel. The goal of the Golden Harps orchestra is to develop a semi professional orchestra with a repertoire spanning the genres of Jazz and world music. This orchestra consists of, but is not limited to, residents of the city of Brampton.

The “G” Harps participated in Pan Alive for the first time in 2009 and, amid some controversy, placed seventh. In 2010, under the direction of Arranger Mr. Duvone Stewart, the orchestra placed second .The BCASPCB has secured a permanent rehearsal studio with the help of an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant. Beginning in the fall, BCASPCB will be offering 4 music programs. The Golden Harps: The community band; The Junior Harps for young people 10 to 16 yrs; The Angel Harps for youth and adults interested in playing contemporary gospel and Silver Harps for seniors and retirees.
