Hamilton Youth Steel Orchestra (HYSO) pronounced – HI-SO is a 8-year old  community-based music program dedicated to assisting our youth in realizing their full potential.  As we continue to mature as a band, our players are emerging as well-rounded, talented players ready to assume leadership roles wherever and whenever opportunities exist.  The benefits of this structured music program are reflected in the social development and academic successes achieved by our players. 

At HYSO, it’s about our youth, that is why we’re honoured to have been invited to represent youth and the Steelpan artform, at the Trinidad and Tobago 50th anniversary of Independence and the 100th Anniversary of the birth of the 1st Prime Minister and the father of the nation.
