The Jesse Ketchum Pan Vibrations Steelband was formed in 1994 under the direction of Cecil “Muggs” Clarke and Heather McIvor.  Originally the steelband was a school band at Jesse Ketchum Public School, as part of the curriculum, and as an afterschool program.  Over the years, the band has evolved to include both alumni of Jesse Ketchum School, as well as members who have joined separately.  The summer steelband camp program was an educational and recreational program which introduced the band to the summer Caribana festivities.  Originally, Jesse Ketchum competed against other children’s bands in the Pan Trinbago Panorama Competition, and played in the Junior Carnival Parade, but joined and flourished in adult competitions and the Caribana Parade since then.  The Pan Vibrations have had the honour of playing for Nelson Mandela, the United Nations, the Special Oympics and countless other prestigious performances.  They have travelled to Trinidad and Tobago, Montreal and New York.  The program has assisted countless youths from a collection of multicultural backgrounds become part of a positive family environment and learned music from a talented group of arrangers including Dwight Belgrove, Darren Sheppard, Tony Williams, Taurean Clarke and Edan Schime-Stockel.
